We are here to help you choose the right tyres – from premium brands, through the mid- range to the budget tyre. Our brands include:
- Black Circles Tyres (now Michelin)
- Bridgestone Tyres
- Continental Tyres
- Dunlop Tyres
- Hankook Tyres
- Pirelli Tyres
- Maxxis Tyres
- Goodyear Tyres
- Infinity Tyres
- Marshal Tyres
- Michelin Tyres
- Mytyres Tyres
- Uniroyal Tyres
Premium brands will almost always outperform the cheaper brands, so if you are racking up the miles on motorways at high speeds, a premium brand may be what you need.
Our mid-range tyres, making use of the research of premium tyre companies, can cost less and some of our brands, such as Goodyear, Continental and Bridgestone, will make a mid-range tyre under a different brand name.
If cost is your priority, a budget tyre is always going to be a preferable option to a tyre that is badly worn or distorted, but on the whole budget tyres are more suited to low-mileage slower speeds on urban roads – it really is a case of you get what you pay for.
If you are still confused, the new labelling laws will help:
The tyre label is a grading system where tyre manufacturers must specify three categories:
- fuel consumption
- wet grip
- noise classification
The tyre label uses a classification from A (highest performing) to G (lowest performing).
This labelled information must also be available online and in hard copy to comply with the EU regulations. The aim of the regulation is to increase safety, promote fuel-efficient and safe tyres, and decrease noise levels, allowing consumers to make a more informed choice.
When did you last check your tyres?
One Stop Motorist Centre will always check your tyres free of charge. We check:
- Tread depth
- Overall health (by giving them a health-check)
- Correct pressure
Having the correct inflation pressure in your vehicle’s tyres not only optimises the performance but increases your safety when driving. The correct pressure and tread depth will give you optimum grip and increase you braking distances.
As a guide you should check your tyres once every month, during the winter months and especially when embarking on a long journey or holiday.
